Victoria Memorial
The Victoria Memorial was built-in the memories of Queen Victoria after
her death in 1902. it had been opened to general public around 1921. The
magnificent building was created by William Emerson, a famous architect
of this era. The cost of construction that point amounted to Rs.10.5
million that was voluntarily donated by British and Indian people.
Within the Memorial there are various painting from the Royal British
families, royal and historic artifacts, lithographs and documents from
the historical interests. Today the monument is really a major landmark
of Kolkata.
